The best time to Praise God

The best time to Praise God

By Teboho Masakala

The best time of praising God is not only when you are happy nor thankful for all he did for you, the best time to say thank you God is not when all is ok and you feeling the warmth of the sun. Nor is it the time you see things really happening for you.

But the best time to praise God is when you going through hardships. When nothing seems like it’s working or when you feel like hope is gone and you have no one to turn to, that is the best time to thank God, that is the best time to praise God when all odds are against you and the is no one to rescue you.

The best time is when you are feeling so lonely that even your best friends desert you. When times are tough, that is when God is more closer to you and that is the time his hand is stretched towards you looking to lift you up. That is also the time when his mercy is more sufficient for you because when you are weak is when you are strong and when God is more closer to you.

When life throws its hardships on you, don’t cry or see as if God has forsaken you because he hasn’t. It might seem as if he is silent and not hearing your prayers but he does that to enable you to listen to him and have more faith in him.

Never shed a tear when you are going through hardships, but thank God that he is doing something more powerful and great for your life. That is the time God wants to show you his might and that he hasn’t forsaken you but fighting for you, that is the time when God’s love for you is more stronger than ever, his hand protecting you.

Jesus Christ, the King of Kings loves you, don’t think he has forsaken you, don’t let the circumstances you face at the time blind you from seeing the true love of God. You may be going through the loss of your loved one but don’t think God doesn’t care about you or is far away from you or caused the loss of the loved one,  but see God about to do greater things for the good of your life.

Remember in all things God works for good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.  Never stop praising God, show God that you love him and have faith in him no matter the pain you are going through nor hardships you facing. When you feel helpless and weary,  that is the time you need to rely more on prayer  and rely more on God. Never stop praising God, the best time to praise Him is when you facing hardships.  Trust God always. Rely on prayer.

Temptation and a Moment of Weakness

by Teboho Masakala

At one stage of our lives, we have found ourselves faced with a moment of weakness. Weakness that either changed our entire life or nearly destroyed it. Weakness if left alone can cause havoc in our lives. Many men and women have lost their loved ones because they couldn’t control themselves in a moment of weakness that later came back to haunt them.

We live in a world that is full of temptation, temptation so visible it’s hard to ignore it. Some men became so weak seeing half clad women that they compromised their standards, morals and forgot about their families and chased every skirt the is out-there while some women got so tempted by money that they not only sold their soul for it but compromised themselves just not to be seen as weak by their peers or just to fit in with the crowd.

Temptation is the first battle that needs to be won if one wants to conquer a moment of weakness. It starts with temptation. Temptation starts simple, as a joke, entertaining something seen innocent but later as it develops it becomes problematic leading to dire consequences. Temptation is like a small tree that just been planted, the more you water it the more it grows and if left uncontrolled, it grows higher, to a height so high that it becomes impossible to stop. From its roots up to branches, it becomes so strong and the only way to stop it is to either uproot it or to strategize how best to stop it.

Familiarize yourself with the importance of self-control, temptation can lead to your fall. Men in history has lost their families and wives due to not being able to control themselves and gave in to a moment of weakness. Men and women have unplanned babies as a result of temptation disguised as fun or one night stands which at the end caused them their dreams and some their whole life.

Some are six-feet under due to a moment of weakness that cost their lives. Some died after sleeping with beautiful women and handsome men who looked “cute” and mesmerizing on the outside while carrying diseases which are unfortunately invisible to the naked eyes. A moment of weakness has vanished promising careers.

The sad part is temptation and weakness knows no race nor does it choose  based on your level of intelligence, it targets even the intelligent and only self-control can help annihilate temptation. Staying true to yourself and knowing what you want and being focused can help.

Look around you and see the destruction caused by weakness. You may be doing something in secret assuming that no one see’s you but God does and by doing that, you have allowed temptation to creep in and when it does it leads to weakness. Some men has lost their top jobs as they couldn’t close their trousers zips, they allowed a moment of weakness to define them.

Don’t get carried away seeing people destroying their lives in the name of having fun and doing all sorts of crazy things. Be focused, if you are married, be faithful to your partner. If you are struggling with peer pressure seek help. Whatever you do stay away from anything that will lead you to temptation. Don’t lose your life over stupid things. Life is precious. You only get one chance in life to live, once dead the will be no more you. Not even a clone of yourself can be you.

God can help you overcome your weakness. Your life is in your hands. God can change your life.

Never hurt the one you love

Never hurt the one you love ©

by Teboho Masakala

Often we make terrible mistakes that ends up hurting the most people we care about. At the time of the mistakes we do. We are blinded and don’t see anything wrong. We enjoy the temporary feeling of triumph during the mistake not evening thinking about the “Every Dog has its day” phrase as by that time it ends up not existing as the temporarily feeling of stupidity clouds our judgment.

However it is not wise to hurt the one you love or people you hold dearly in your heart. Once they are hurt the is not return. Some might leave you and the stupid caused by the weak moment can cause you a life time headache and heart break.

Don’t ever try do something thinking it will remain concealed forever as nothing remains hidden under the sun like the bible say. Some allow friends to dictate them. They lower their standard to satisfy their friends and make them see themselves superior at the time as they don’t want to be seen as weak by their so called friends and as such they end up making stupid mistakes that hurt their loved one.

What is sad the most when the very same people are forever rejected and out-casted by their loved ones and friends are nowhere to be seen. The very same friends who pressurized them make costly mistakes are on the run and even complain that “no one can force a person a grown up man/woman” to do something they don’t want to do. Forgetting that their influence played a role in getting you rejected by your loved ones and ending up hurting them.

Time to decide what’s important in your life and stop taking what’s dear to your heart for granted. Time for some self-introspection and to see if is it really worth it to hurt the one you love?. The one who really was there for you when no one was? That very same person who is willing to throw themselves under the bus for you? The very same people who is called names and rejected by many. Who tries by all means to make you happy and always see you happy.

The very people who is not ashamed to be seen with you and show the word how proud they are to be with you and let their love for you to be seen by the whole world and to let them know how much you mean to them?

Never hurt the one you love or you will end up regretting for the rest of your life. Once you hurt the one you love. The is no return as you may never know how they will reach. Show that you value the one who love you. Show them how much they mean to you and let every second that passes worth all it is to them. Show them that every minute counts and how you want to spent those minutes with them.

Don’t wait till it is very late. You don’t not know how much time you are left with to show them your genuine love. Don’t wait for hot tears to come down your cheeks to really see what you have lost. Never hurt the one you love. Cherish every moment you have with them. Cut all ties with all that seems as a threat to them. Even if it can be your best friends let them go, friends come and go. Don’t let them destroy the beautiful thing you have. Let love reign in your heart for the one you love. No one can triumph over the power of love but love always wins. Never hurt the one you love

Remain humble and Get rid of Pride

By Teboho Masakala ©

Being humble doesn’t make you dull or an easy target for people to take you for granted.  Humility is one thing that will take you far. God uses the humble for his work and elevates them. He never uses prideful people because all they are and want is to boast to others and they depend on their might and will as if like it was them that made it possible to achieve the kind of success they have.

Many have been dethroned, lost their place in work, position of power or lost their loved ones due to pride and boasting. Pride will lead you to think that all you do is by your power and that you don’t need anyone. The more prideful you are the more you are slowly going down. Do not be deceived, God doesn’t work with pride but uses the bumble to shame the prideful.

In this world, people boast, whatever they have, money, cars or whatever material possession they may have they make it as if like it was their strength that accumulated all they have. Bragging on social media just to get a fading respect from people!

Yes a fading respect because once all they have vanish, people also vanish!!  Humility can take you places you never imagined you will. Fused with respect, the two can take you countries you never imagined you will be at. God uses the humble and elevates them.

Be it at a place of work, school or wherever you may be, stay humble. Don’t boast to anyone about what you have because it will lead to pride that will result in your downfall. Humbly let God be the one that will elevates you. Let what you do praise him more than this world. Many think bragging on social media will gain them respect not knowing it can attract both positive and negative.

Despite your success, wealth and all the good in your life, don’t be big headed and think it was by your might to have acquired your success. God can humble you and make you lose all you have. The Lord gives and he takes.

You cannot praise God when you are full of pride. It will be hard to do so, but remain humble, respect everyone and that alone can lead God to shower you with plenty rain of blessings. Graves are the saddest place ever because they have a testimony of those buried in them who were killed by pride. If graves could talk, they would tell and spew out of them those who died because of refusing to remain humble.

Those who fought as their pride was at stake and as such didn’t want to lose it.
If graves could talk, they would narrate about those who totally refused to remain humble as they didn’t want to be undermined. They would advise those alive  how important it is to remain humble. Sadly they can’t talk.

Don’t be carried away by pride or material success. Put humility above all. Patrice Motsepe, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther (Lutheran Church founder) John Wesley (Methodist Church founder) Nathi Mankayi and others are examples of how higher humility can take you. God uses the humble and elevates them. Against all odds, remain humble.

Trials and Tribulations

Trials and Tribulations

By Teboho Masakala

Life itself is full of trials and tribulations that often or many instances deter dreams and stall the future but trials and tribulations should not be the cause of giving up. In fact trials and tribulations are just a test in life to take you a step closer to achieving your dreams. At times we look at trials as something that takes us steps back while in fact trials can be a learning curve.

Nelson Mandela was tested during the 27 years he spent in prison, from the treason trial, not allowed to see his children till they were at a certain age and living with the fact that he might not see freedom again after being banned for life in Robben Island. But the trials he went through did not stop the dreams he had to see a free and democratic South Africa but instead made him look at the bright side of it which was seeing the people of South Africa free.

It wasn’t about his freedom as such but the freedom of other.  Trials are a good learning curve and a stepping stone. Do not be afraid to be tested or pass through the storms because it will produce a good harvest you will be proud of.

Lessons you can learn after passing trials and tribulations:

v  Coming out stronger than ever
v  Learning from the experience
v  Taking life one step at a time
v  Knowing who your real friends are who were supporting you during trials and tribulations
v  Making sure not to face same situation again
v  Look beyond your tests, trials and tribulations
v  Be inspired and proud to have passed a test that has shaped your life for the better
v  Be able to help others who passed the same experience as you
v  Use your experience to inspire, motivate and mentor others.
v  Believe in your abilities.
v  Never giving up

Do not fear trials and tribulations that you face in life but welcomed every challenge as it comes. The is a purpose for every challenge you pass. God won’t give you a burden that you cannot carry or handle.

I wish I had stopped and helped you up…

by Bonolo Motsumi

Upon receiving of the news of your passing, my mind quickly spun in a revolution of memories relived. I tried to look for clues or signs that could have warned me about the seriousness of your illness or that you had little time to live. But with each picture slowly sliding across my closed eyes, I saw no sign of brokenness or severe damage.

Instead, I saw your smile. Your beautiful, sweet smile appeared on every image and with it only came a memory of a warrior who lived her whole life patiently and humbly battling a dreadful disease. Maybe that’s why we missed it.

Maybe that’s why we never saw how near your end was. Simply because you carried your soul with so much dignity and integrity, regardless of its brokenness.

I lament the loss of such a beautiful soul that passed so soon. But I also celebrate the sweet memory of a life well lived in this hard, cruel world that has no mercy on the poor or the ill. I cannot hold back my tears as I can’t help begging time to tick back a little.

I only need back the three last hours that just passed me by, without telling me of a great sorrow that has befell your family and friends. Maybe if you read this, you would understand that your world was not as dark and empty as you saw it.

Maybe this would change your whole image of life and maybe, just maybe, a lot of things would reverse as well, like your passing.

It was yesterday when I saw your beautiful, lively smile and like always, you were just humbly and beautifully quiet. Little did I know that even when you still walked upright and laughed like nothing was wrong, on this particular day, you were fighting a losing battle.

We talked a little but I remember well, we never said goodbye. Maybe we saw no necessity to do so but now I lament the loss of that opportunity, the opportunity to caress your cheek and assure you that the road ahead was much comforting and kind, the opportunity to bid you good night.

The world will remember you well for living such a grounded life even though you were haunted by secret, silent demons. When you recited the story of your life to us, we could only imagine how difficult your journey must have been, but nobody could really share your pain and take a piece home to lessen your burden.
Please forgive us.

Please forgive us for being sympathetic rather than empathetic for you. We didn’t realize that you needed us to be strong instead of being pitiful for you. Beloved friend, please forgive us.

I remember our lives together in an image of a marathon. I remember how the rest of us focused on the race even you fell along the way. I remember how none of us stopped to help you up. I remember how we all wanted to finish the race faster than anyone.

I remember how we were fueled by the cheering crowd to keep on running to claim the victory but now, as I smash this worthless trophy on a rock, I realize how I have lived my whole life hiding you away to avoid the stigma of being associated with a mentally ill person.

Sharp pains strike through my heart as I summon up remembrance of how life would have turned out for us, had I stopped and helped you up. The one second image that I saw almost a mile away when I was two seconds away from jumping over the finish line, is locked in my head. This image pierces my soul deeply and has me wondering if I serve any purpose in life.

It is the image of a courageous woman who didn't quit the race even when everyone else had finished running. Limping, sweating, she was still walking. Walking towards the finish line we all ran for. The crowd was now watching in sorrow.

We all wanted to go back and help you but to what would we owe the honour? You made it this far without us and you displayed the greatest quality we never even thought of that day. You displayed courage. Courage to keep going on even when the world thinks you have to give up.

I wish I had stopped and helped you up…

Tears of a broken man

Tears of a broken man

By Teboho Masakala

Sitting around the table was Lerato, a very beautiful mother of two children preparing dinner clad in a white dress with her head scarf on which she adores so much and always puts on. She takes a look at her two children Bongiwe and Boitumelo, the twelve year olds twin girls chatting happily as she’s about to dish. “Dinner is served my angels” said Lerato as she dishes for the twins “What are we having mommy?” interjected Bongiwe “Keep quiet and eat” said Boitumelo giving Bongiwe a nasty look.

“Be quiet girls and eat, your father will be here any minute from now” warned Lerato as the twins ate their food quietly. A loud knock at the door was heard as Lerato rose to open the door “My husband you are back. How was work?” said Lerato as  her husband, Thabo, a construction worker wearing blue overalls and dirty boots stepped inside the house with his face covered in dust. “Daddy is home” said the twins simultaneously as they rushed to their father. “Be careful, he needs to change and wash his hands as he is full of dust” “Keep quiet Lerato, cant you see how happy my daughters are to see me” said Thabo as he bend down to hug the twins”

“Ok now go finish eating” lerato echoed as the girls took their seats to finish their food. “Let me go and change, I will be back” said Thabo as he went to the bedroom, quickly changed clothes, washed his face and hands and went back to the table where his wife and kids were eating.

“Your plate is in the microwave, let me warm it up for you” “Thank you my dear wife”. The sound of the microwave warming food was heard and minute later Lerato brought food for Thabo “Mommy we have finished eating” said Bongiwe wiping  her mouth. “Ok. Go straight to bed” “Good night daddy and mommy” echoed the twins as they hopped straight to their room.

“How was work today baby” “It was hectic, being a construction worker is not easy. We working very hard but earning too little” “I know my husband but the R1200 you earning helps here at home, we buy food and clothes for the girls but…” “But its little”  interjected Thabo “I know but you are the only one working, I have been unemployed for five years now” “Yes my wife and I want the best for my children, since I am the bread winner I will do everything. I have no qualifications, construction work is the only work I know” “Hush now my husband” If I had a chance to go to school I would have been a doctor now. But because I was born poor I never went to school. At least you are a teacher by profession” “Yes but I have been unemployed for five years, the teaching degree is useless” said Lerato.

“I will help you get work. I will keep my ears on the ground and if I hear something will tell you” “You are very supportive Thabo” “I will do anything for my family” “It’s late, you have work tomorrow. Finish up eating and lets sleep” “Lol” Thabo giggled as he finished eating and the two went to bed.

The next day Thabo came home late as usual during the night and went straight to greet the girls who were playing “Daddy” said the girls as they hugged him and continued playing “Hi honey was work today?” asked Lerato. “It was ok and I have some news, I heard that the is a teaching post going to open at the primary school that is thirty minutes away from here. Heard they need a maths teacher” “Really” “Yes and can you give me your curriculum vitae to pass on to the school principal? I work with his brother and I will ask him to pass it on to him” “Wow” Lerato jumped happily “I know you haven’t been working for five years and I have been supporting our family with the little money we get” “Its been hard for the past five years not working. I feel useless as I can’t help you look after our family. You looking after us alone while I have a teaching degree that I can’t use. I am a useless wife to you Thabo “Hush now you are not useless” “I promise you that if I get the job I wont change and will still love you” “Hush now. I know you wont change” “I will still love you like always and wont change. I know you are just a construction worker but you take good care of our family and for the past five years you have been looking after us. The girls are happy and you have been faithful to me. I promise I wont change” “Tomorrow I will give your curriculum vitae to my colleague to give to the principal of the school. I know you are very qualified and you will be hired on the spot” “Thank you my lovely husband. You have been very supportive and never cheated on me” Lerato cried “Hush now, don’t cry. Its late lets go to sleep” said Thabo as he wiped off his wife’s tears.

“Wake up Thabo you are going to be late for work” said Lerato as she shook Thabo and helped him rise from the bed as he struggled to stand up straight due to still being sleepy “I have prepared water for you. Your food will be ready in a while” said Lerato as Thabo poured water in the waskom, took out his face cloth and bathed. “Food is ready; here eat quickly before you get late” “Don’t forget your curriculum vitae. I will pass it on to the principal” “I pray I get the job.” “You will my sweetheart” “Here is my curriculum vitae” Lerato tucked it in Thabo’s bag “I have to get going now or I will be late” “Don’t forget to give the curriculum vitae to the principal” “I wont” said Thabo as he stormed out of the house.   Lerato looked at her husband as he hurried to the construction truck and in her heart prayed to get the job as she has not been working for five years with her husband earning R1200 being the only income.

“What a day at work. I am so tired” said Thabo as he entered the house sweating and tired in the evening “Where are my girls?” “Asleep, they went to bed early today” “Ok” “Did you give the principal my curriculum vitae” “Yes honey I did and I am expecting feedback tomorrow” “I hope and pray I get the job “Me too, I know you will, I have been supporting you all along and I  know you will get the job” “Lets wait for tomorrow and hear what the principal say” “I am very tired. I am not going to eat today. I am heading straight to slumber land” said Thabo yawning “Will join you later I want to finish washing dishes” “Goodnight in advance” said Thabo heading to bed.

“Lerato!!!Lerato. My wife I have good news for you” said Thabo excitedly as he stormed into the house “What is it Thabo, you nearly gave me a heart attack” “Sit down my wife” said Thabo pulling a chair for his wife as she perched on it silently “I got feedback regarding your curriculum vitae and the principal wants you to come for an interview tomorrow” “Wow. Really” said Lerato jumping so hard she nearly fell down “Tomorrow you must get ready and be prepared. The interview is at eleven o’clock at the school” “Thank you so much my husband” as she hugged Thabo. Thabo hugged his wife he loved dearly as the two were happy for the prospect of the interview.

“Today is the day. Are you ready for it?” said Thabo looking at Lerato who was getting ready having combed her hair “Yes I am” she replied. “Look at the time. I must get going now or I will be late for work. Good luck on your interview. I pray you get the job” said Thabo giving his wife a kiss on the cheek as he left the house. Lerato quickly got ready. Took her bag and went to the school.

She waited patiently at the reception before meeting the school principal, an old man about fifty years old with a bald head. The principal looked at Lerato’s curriculum vitae numerous times asking her endless questions. “I am impressed by your curriculum vitae. We have long needed a maths teacher. You are hired. Welcomed to Maruping primary school” said the principal shaking Lerato’s hand “Thank you sir” shereplied trying not to scream “See you tomorrow on your first day” “Thank you sir” she replied as she left the office jumping, ululating and dancing.

“I got the job my husband” she jumped on Thabo as soon as he stepped into the house “Yes I did. Our life will change now” “I am so happy for you my wife” “I will be earning R25 000, will be able to buy a better house” she said “I am happy for you my darling” said Thabo hugging his wife and then allowed her to prepare food. The girls joined them at the table for dinner as they shared the good news with them.

“Today is my first day and I am so excited yet scared” “You will do well. Teaching is in your blood” “I know but…” “No but, you will do well” interjected Thabo “Ok” she sighed “I better be going or I will be late. It’s also cold today” “See you later” “Good luck on your first day as a teacher” said Thabo after putting on his big black construction boots and left the house. Lerato’s first day went well and was welcomed at the school, showed the classes she will teach and enjoyed her first day.

“How was your first day?” said Thabo during dinner “fine. I loved it. The leaners  welcomed me and it felt good to teach after five years” “That’s nice” “I better eat and sleep. I am tired. We digged many holes on the road today.Construction work not easy” “Ok. Good night then” said Lerato as his husband took two slices of bread and left for bed.

Things went fine for the family with everything well, Lerato doing well at her work but sadly Thabo was retrenched from his work as the company moved to Durban and had to retrench some people and Thabo had to break the sad news to his wife “Good evening” said Thabo looking depressed as he sat down “Thabo are you fine?” He kept quiet not looking at her “Thabo talk to me. What is it?” again he looked at her. A tear came out of his eyes” “I have been retrenched at work” “Why?” “The company is moving to Durban and they are retrenching and I have been fired” he looked at her crying. “Don’t worry I am here. Will look after you and the girls. You looked after me for five years while I was not working and you helped me get my job so I will look after you” said Lerato patting him on the shoulder. “Thank you” “I will tell the girls don’t worry.” “You are my blessing” he said “Now go rest” she held his hand and led him to the bedroom, helped him untie his shoe laces as he lied on the bed.

For the first two months things went well but Lerato become tired of giving money to Thabo, she suddenly changing and since his husband was unemployed. She saw him as nothing and became mean anda  total monster ordering him around and making him wash dishes, clean the house and wash her own underwear. Money changed Lerato so much she forgot all the good things Thabo did for her while she was not working. She came home from work looking angry as she saw Thabo sitting quietly “Hey wena Thabo. Where is my food? I am hungry” “My wife I am sorry I didn’t…” “Shut up. You useless man” she slapped him twice in the face “You are useless, I support you with my own money and you don’t cook? Where is my food you stupid idiot?” she took the broom and hit him on the head as poor Thabo tried to run away “Don’t you run away from me. Come here” “Baby why are you mean to me? I used to take care of you while I was working….” “Shut up. I am not your baby. Don’t tell me about that nonsense called construction work; you were not even able to afford me, my hair and nails. Don’t tell me about that change you were getting, I am earning more now and I am the boss. Now go and cook for me. I want tea and take this shoes, go and wash them now” “Ok” said Thabo as he hurried to cook for Lerato and making tea  bringing it to her “What is this? Tea? You call this tea?” she threw it at him, the hot water burned his back as he tried to duck the coffee mug which hit his back “Go and make a better tea for me now and you are sleeping on the floor today and not on my bed. You useless unemployed man” said Lerato giving him two hot slaps across the face.

The abuse continued on Thabo, he remembered how he helped Lerato get the teaching job, looking after her for five years. But that Lerato was gone. Only a monster was left. The abuse on Thabo continued as she did everything Lerato wanted, she didn’t care about himand she had an affair, making him sleep on the floor without blankets and food. The only time Thabo managed to eat was when she was at work but she always found out and locked him outside without food. Poor Thabo will cry and miss their happy days which were gone. Lerato became a monster every day starving Thabo, hitting her with anything she could hold, poor Thabo became a slave of the abuse from his wife.

“I can’t live like this anymore, I have lost weight” said Thabo looking at himself and how skinny he has became because of depression and abuse from his wife. He had scars on his face, body and his hands had scars also “I cannot take it anymore. For the past six months I have suffered abuse and the painful part is I have to hide this from my children, they don’t know how much their mother is abusing me. I can’t take it anymore. I am sleeping on the floor, I don’t get food and since I have not been working Lerato is treating me like dirt. I am nothing in this house” he cried “I am going to the police to ask for help. The abuse is too much, I am going to the police to ask for help” said Thabo crying as he rose up from the chair after a conversation with himself. He locked the house as the children were at school as he made his way to the police station. Entering the police station he sat on the queue (line).

“How can we help you sir” said a policeman addressing Thabo “I am here to open a case” “Ok sir a case of what?who do you want arrested? “My wife, she abuses me everyday,  she beats me with anything she gets her hands on and you see this scars all over my body?” he showed the policeman the scars  “They were caused by her. Please go and arrest her, I cant take the abuse” said Thabo crying “lol. hahahaha” the policeman laughed “You are abused by a woman? You can’t be man enough instead you want us to arrest your wife? You can’t handle her? What kin of a man are you? A coward who is beaten by his wife? Hahahah” said the police man laughing and mocking Thabo.

Thabo left the police station crying and was shocked at how the policeman treated him. The person who was supposed to help him laughed at him and made a mockery of him. He returned home, ashamed, crying and feeling useless. “Heywena Thabo, what were you doing at the police station?” “Me?, I never…” Thabo stuttered very scared “Stop lying, that policeman you spoke to is my boyfriend” “Boyfriend? Are you cheating on me?” “What do you expect me to do with you? You are not man enough, you are not even half a man, that policeman has money and works a decent job unlike you a former construction worker. You piece of trash you tried to get me arrested?” she slapped him four times, two on the face and two on the head “Don’t try to push me. Next time I will kill you. You useless piece of trash, get away from me. Go and cook I’m hungry” “Yes my wife” “Your wife? Don’t call me that I am not your wife”. Said Lerato throwing a spoon at his face as he hurried to the kitchen to cook and half an hour later bringing them to her.

“What is it? You calling this food?” she shouted at him as the twins entered “Mommy why are you always shouting at daddy and why are you always treating him like this” said Bongiwe crying “Shut up, go to your rooms or I will kill you” the twins ran to their room very scared. “Now wena Thabo you turning my children against me you idiot” “No I am not” he replied shaking and scared “Shut up” Thabo kept quiet, looked at her and said “I am tired of you beating me, look at me I am bruised all over my body.” “Thabo don’t speak nonsense here” “But its true Lerato you beat me. Since I lost my work few months ago you treated me like dirt” a tear came out of Thabo’s left eye “You are dirt cant you see? You are rubbish” “But Lerato I cant take it anymore. I am dumping you, its over, I think we must separate” “hahahaha” she laughed “You think you can leave me? You are not leaving me. I own you, I feed you, this house is now mine, I am the head of this house and you are not leaving me” “I am Lerato” “Don’t talk back when I talk Thabo” She hit him with her fists so much his nose bled “Now you listen to me, if you ever try to leave me, I will threaten you with rape. I will arrest you for rape. South African jail is ready for rapists and do try to leave me and see what will happen to you. You will rot in jail and my children won’t even visit you. Now get out of here” She shouted at Thabo as he left her and sat on the cold floor.

Thabo suffered from depression, his two daughters saw this but were scared of their mother who told them to stay away from him. Even though they loved their father, they only spoke to him when she was not around and he did everything in his power to hide the pain for the sake of his girls and assured them it will be fine.
g and scared “Shut up” Thabo kept quiet, looked at her and said “I am tired of you beating me, look at me I am bruised all over my body.” “Thabo don’t speak nonsense here” “But its true Lerato you beat me.

“I can’t take it anymore. The best way to escape this abuse is to kill myself, I cant live like this, too much depression, its been months now, I cant take it” said Thabo talking alone as Lerato had just left for work “Lerato treats me like dirt, ever since I lost my work I am useless, I cant even face my daughters. The police cant help me but instead they laugh at me, Lerato is even cheating on me with a policeman, for months she has been seen with him at restaurants and since I am useless, its hard for me.” He cried remembering how good life used to be. He stood up went to the kitchen, took out a pen and wrote “My dear daughters Bongiwe and Boitumelo forgive me for what I did. Hope you will understand one day. Your mother knows why I did this”Thabo took the letter, folded it and put it on the table as he took a rope from the drawer, stepped on the chair and hanged it tighter to the ceiling pole. He took another part of the rope staring at it for few seconds “My daughters please forgive me for this” he took the rope, put it around his neck and let the chair go as he struggled to breath and after kicking for few seconds as he continued struggling to breath, he died. The letter was on the table and after forty five minutes after Thabo killed himself, the girls came home from school and they screamed so hard seeing their father’s lifeless body hanging from the rope “Daddy don’t leave us. We still need you” shouted Bongiwe comforting Boitumelo his twin sister “This is enough, we cant live without daddy” said Boitumelo “Look he left a letter here on the table, they looked at the letter, read it and cried hysterically as Lerato entered into the house “What is this screaming I hear from outside?” “You killed him mommy. You made daddy kill himself we hate you” “What Thabo…what have you done” Lerato screamed looking at his lifeless body hanging from the roof. “We following daddy” said Boitumelo as she took two knives from the drawer and gave one to her sister. “We saw how badly you treated daddy. We can’t live with a monster such as you Mama” said Boitumelo “We want our daddy and we will be with him in death” said Bongiwe as she stabbed herself followed by her sister “Nooooo. Please, I can’t lose you. No my girls” said Lerato crying as the girls bled to death “You caused all of this Mama. I hope you are happy now and got what you wanted. You killed Daddy, hope you will enjoy life now” said Boitumelo as she closed her eyes and peacefully died.

Lerato cried loudly looking at the three dead bodies “Thabo I am sorry, I didn’t mean to abuse you. Forgive me please, I know you loved me but since I started working I saw you as nothing and abused you” she cried painfully ‘I have now lost you Thabo and our two daughters. I am sorry” she continued crying looking at the three dead bodies in the room. “I have caused by husband to kill himself, I was abusing him so much that I now lost the father of my children and my two daughters. I can’t live without my husband and daughters” she took the bloody knife from Boitumelo “I rather die also than spend my life in jail and without my children. Forgive me Thabo for abusing you. Forgive me my daughters. I will be with you in death” she stabbed herself on the stomach “I will now be with my family in death” she uttered as she breathed her last, fell down and died.

It’s Not Worth Crying for.

By Teboho Masakala ©

Often we waste our tears on people not worth crying for, often we cry for people who don’t give a damn about us. We sacrifice so much for those people while all they do and good at is causing us repeated pain now and again, God cannot give you someone who will constantly hurt you or cause damage. Many people have ended up dead because of crying for people not worth crying for.

We put so much of our trust on people, so much on them that we don’t expect them to hurt as we expect them to be perfect and only to be shocked when they show their true colours which either ends up with us hurt or crying. Why do you keep crying for someone who doesn't care about you? Most of the women give their all to their boyfriends and partners who ends up disappointing them.

Often we unfairly blame God for the wrong choices we make while we could have waited on the Lord so that we cannot keep crying. Some Have ended up either dead or with broken hearts because they expected to much, some are willing to go to extreme length just to show how much they care about their boyfriends, husband, wives or children only to be disappointed. Do not be part of a statistics of pain. Refrain from putting your happiness on people, stop wasting your tears on people worth not crying for.

Often ladies expects too much and ends up putting too much of their trust on their partners who ends up disappointing them. If you want to cry, cry to the LORD and shout out to him because you are not wasting your tears when you cry to the Lord, he is your father who knows what you are going through and he won’t allow you to waste your tears on nonsense or on someone not worth crying for.

It doesn't matter how long you have cried or how  many times you were disappointed or let down, God can change your tears to joy as crying for the Lord is worth crying so do not waste anymore of your time crying for people because many will not appreciate your efforts or even care.

Cry out to God Almighty whose arms are wide open to receive you and welcome you. When you are in his arms you will rest assured that you are safe and he will wipe away every tear dropping out of your eyes and give you the joy you have always wanted, so don’t every cry for people not worth cry for because it’s not worth it.

You Are A Hero To Someone

by Teboho Masakala (C)

You may not know or realize it but to someone you are a role model, a hero, a comforter and their only hope. Someone is depending on you for their strength, to rejuvenate their faith and to bring them breakthrough in their life. Never undermine yourself because you are precious not only in God’s eyes but also in the eyes of other people.

You are a light to someone, the are people who look up to you whenever they get weary, you are a shield to someone out there and you lift their spirit whenever they are down. You may not realize it but the way you are strong in overcoming challenges uplifts someone who looks up to you and wishes they had the strength and the courage that you have.

You are a fighter, your intelligence can open opportunities for someone, you are a leader even though you don’t know, you only have to realize how strong you are as you have followers who need your advice day and night even though you don’t know it or aware of it yet.God is trusting you with those people who you are not aware of, yes the very same people who considers you their role model and hero.

If you fail, you are letting them down, the is a generation that will fail because of you that looks up to you. You are caring the whole generation on your shoulders that relies on you and whose heaven trusts you for it, so be strong  and stay focused always, rely on the Holy Spirit as blessed are those who pin their hope on the Lord.

You will never be shaken if you believe in God, the rock of all ages. God is your source of life and you are very important to him and with him in your side you can conquer anything  and nothing can stand in your way.

No one has the power and capacity God instilled in you, because you are unique, God has a special purpose for you and kept you this far to enable you to fullfill the purpose he planned for you and God wants to see you reaching your destination and fulfilling your earthly mission.
Keep praying until something happens, dynamites comes in small packages and you are a dynamite able  to destroy impossible moutains.

Remember when you are weak is when you are strong as God is more closer to you. You Are A Hero To Someone
